The Faces Behind the Journey

Ismael Nsengiyumva | Senior Guide

Ish has been guiding in Rwanda for more than 14 years and brings with him a calm presence, sharp field skills, and a real gift for storytelling.

He’s especially known for his work with mountain gorillas and birdlife, but it’s the way he shares what he knows — with humility, humor, and heart — that guests remember most.

"I’ve spent years walking these forests, and they still surprise me. The more you listen, the more they teach you—and that’s what I love passing on to guests."

– Ismael Nsengiyumva

Danny founded Inyambo with a clear purpose: to create the kind of DMC he always wished existed. With more than 13 years of experience in Rwanda’s high-end tourism and aviation sectors, he brings both operational depth and a deep pride in his home country to the table.

He began his career in guest-facing roles and grew into senior leadership, so he knows firsthand how much thought and work go into making a trip run well. That hands-on background shapes everything Inyambo does, from the way we communicate to the way we handle the smallest details.

Daniel Nizeye | Founder & Managing Director

"Rwanda isn’t just where I work—it’s home. What drives me is helping our partners share the richness of this place in a way that’s thoughtful, real, and done properly."

– Daniel Nizeye

With over 16 years in the field, Safari is one of Rwanda’s most experienced and well-loved guides. He’s known for his deep wildlife knowledge — especially when it comes to primates — and for the easy, joyful way he connects with people.

Whether leading a gorilla trek or sharing stories on the trail, Safari creates space for guests to slow down, ask questions, and feel completely at home in the wild.

Safari Segatarama | Senior Guide

"There’s nothing better than watching someone experience Rwanda for the first time. If I can help them laugh, learn something, and feel connected—that’s a good day."

– Safari Segatarama

A Note From Michael

The first time I travelled to Rwanda, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. That was more than twenty years ago now, and I’ve been returning ever since. There’s something about this place that stays with you. The beauty is obvious, of course, but it’s the people and the deep sense of purpose that runs through everything here that left the greatest mark on me. It still does.

I met Danny Nizeye in 2017 while working on a project. From the start, I was struck by how he carried himself: calm, focused, grounded. He’s one of those people who quietly gets things done — and gets them done right. We’ve worked together on several projects since then, and when he reached out about Inyambo, I didn’t hesitate. I knew that whatever he was building would be worth standing behind.

Inyambo isn’t just another DMC. It’s something more deliberate. Built by people who live here and care deeply about Rwanda, it’s a platform that combines a personal touch with professional excellence. It’s the kind of work I’m proud to be part of.

My role as co-founder and partner has included helping shape the guiding ethos at Inyambo, one rooted in care, integrity, and meaningful connection. I’ve had the privilege of working closely with both Ish and Safari, two exceptional guides I trust completely. They bring real presence, depth, and warmth to the journeys they lead.

To my fellow trade partners: if Rwanda is on your radar — or even if it isn’t yet — Inyambo is the team you want in your corner. This is a country with so much to offer, and I’m proud to share it through a company that’s getting it right.
